Client Success Stories:

Achievement: Adelaide – Guangzhou, China Southern
Description: 4 charter flights with B777-200s in Feb 2013

The seasonal charter programme during Chinese New Year (“CNY”) 2013 helped to further improve the awareness of Adelaide to Chinese consumers. The programme primarily focused on the inbound market from China. The charter programme achieved record numbers of passengers compared to previous years; with a 58% increase in seat capacity, over the previous programme in 2011. A total of 8 itineraries were produced for the charter programme. Tour packages included visits to some of South Australia’s most famous landmarks and tourist sites, including: Kangaroo Island, Adelaide Hills and the Barossa Valley.

Achievement: Hong Kong – Darwin – Ayers Rock, Qantas
Description: 5 charter flights with B737-800s during Chinese New Year 2012

The primary objective was to deliver a series of charter flights in Chinese New Year 2012, to accelerate the development of the Hong Kong and China markets for Australia’s Northern Territory. Itineraries were developed based on what appealed to the consumer, based on sales demand. The programme further enhanced cooperation between Qantas Airways and the Northern Territory Government. Relationships were established and strengthened between NT Operators and Chinese agents. New tour itineraries were developed specifically for Chinese visitors including 2, 3 and 7 night stays in the NT. The programme also generated nearly 700 room nights and over $1 million in economic benefit for the NT.

Achievement: Adelaide – Guangzhou, China Southern
Description: 2 charter flights with B777-200s in Feb 2011

The charter flights were centred around Chinese New Year because that is the peak travel season between China and Australia. When developing new markets such as Adelaide, in order to minimise risk and cannibalisation of scheduled services to other cities in the same country (Australia in this case), our approach begins with the targeting the peak season and then we look to expand the demand curve throughout the rest of the year from there. This year’s charter programme achieved a 36% capacity increase over the previous year.

Achievement: Adelaide – Shenzen, China Southern
Description: 2 Charter flights with A330-200s in Feb 2010

In February 2010, Aspirion delivered two Chinese New Year (“CNY”) charter flights with China Southern Airlines between Shenzen in Guangdong, China and Adelaide in South Australia. It was the first ever direct flight between China and Adelaide and it was the only CNY charter to operate elsewhere in Australia, besides Queensland that year. For the year ended June 2010, the Chinese visitors to Adelaide grew 24% compared to the national average of Chinese visitors to Australia – which grew at a rate of 11% on the prior year.

Achievement: Adelaide – Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Airlines
Description: Charter flights with A330s in Nov and Dec 2010

Aspirion delivered a series of six charter flights between Adelaide and Vietnam, across a six week period in November and December 2010. The programme primarily focused on the outbound market from Adelaide. The flights achieved load factors exceeding 90%. It was the first time that any non-stop service operated between Adelaide and Vietnam. For the year ended June 2011, as a direct result of the charter programme, the Adelaide-Vietnam outbound market grew 47% compared to the Australia to Vietnam national average of 15%.
